Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam, you and your family will receive a warm welcome to Tanzania. From the airport, you'll be transferred to your selected accommodation in either Arusha or Moshi, depending on your flight’s arrival time. This day will be yours to relax, settle in, and acclimatize to the beautiful surroundings, preparing for the exciting safari adventure that lies ahead.

After a hearty breakfast, set off on a scenic 2–3 hour drive from Arusha to the stunning Tarangire National Park. Known for its sweeping landscapes, iconic baobab trees, and impressive elephant herds, Tarangire offers a perfect introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife for the whole family. Spend the day on exciting game drives, spotting a wide range of animals in their natural habitat—from zebras and giraffes to lions and colorful birdlife. In the evening, unwind at your lodge or campsite, located either inside the park or close by, ready to relax and share stories from the day’s adventure.

On the third day of your safari, you'll journey from Tarangire National Park to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, a true icon of African wildlife. The drive takes approximately 4 to 6 hours, offering scenic landscapes and occasional wildlife sightings along the way. As you enter the Serengeti, prepare to be captivated by its vast, open plains teeming with wildlife. If your timing aligns with the Great Wildebeest Migration, you may witness one of nature’s most awe-inspiring events. Enjoy a thrilling game drive en route to your lodge or campsite, where your family will settle in for the next two nights of unforgettable safari experiences.

Day four is all about immersing your family in the magic of the Serengeti ecosystem. From sunrise to sunset, you'll enjoy morning and afternoon game drives led by expert guides who will share fascinating insights into the region’s wildlife and natural history. Be sure to keep your camera at the ready as you track the Big Five and encounter countless other iconic species across the vast plains. For an unforgettable experience, you may choose to embark on an optional hot air balloon safari—soaring above the Serengeti at dawn for panoramic views and a truly unique perspective (available at an additional cost). Your day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at the same comfortable lodge or campsite nestled within the park.

Leaving the Serengeti behind, you'll travel to the remarkable Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a scenic drive of approximately 3–4 hours. This protected area is home to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. After descending into the crater, prepare to be captivated by its dramatic landscape and the incredible density of wildlife, including the rare and elusive black rhino. The day promises unforgettable encounters and breathtaking views. By late afternoon, you’ll ascend to your lodge or campsite on the crater rim, where you can relax and enjoy sweeping vistas in a peaceful setting for your final night in the wild.

On the final day of your family safari, enjoy a peaceful nature walk along the Ngorongoro Crater rim, soaking in the breathtaking scenery one last time. After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the incredible wildlife and stunning landscapes of Tanzania. You’ll then begin your journey back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. As you leave, carry with you unforgettable memories of an extraordinary family adventure through the heart of East Africa.
