Overview

 Uganda, famously called “the Pearl of Africa” by Winston Churchill, features dry savannahs in the north, lush mountains in the west, and dense, vibrant forests in the central region. The country is home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife, including the highly endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Queen Elizabeth National Park offers excellent wildlife viewing, including four of the Big Five, flamingos, and the rare tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities such as white-water rafting, kayaking, hiking, quad biking, and horseback riding.

Embark on a Uganda safari with a scenic transfer to Kibale National Park for the Bigodi Cultural Experience, then trek through the rainforest on a chimpanzee tracking adventure and enjoy the panoramic “Top of the World” hike. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla tracking, with an optional Batwa Cultural Trail, followed by a Golden Monkey trek in Mgahinga and a boat cruise on Lake Mutanda. Conclude with transfer to Kigali or Entebbe Airport, with an optional visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, combining wildlife, culture, and stunning scenery.

Itinerary

Journey Time: Approx. 06 Hours

Your pickup location is flexible — either from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe Town, or directly from Entebbe Airport (We recommend an early arrival flight). 
As advised, you will be warmly received by our dedicated safari guide, who will provide a detailed trip briefing before you depart for Kibale Forest. En route, a lunch stop will be arranged at a selected local restaurant.

Upon arrival in Kibale, immerse yourself in the Bigodi Cultural Experience — a vibrant encounter that includes a traditional coffee tour, sampling banana beer and local vodka, discovering unique arts and crafts, enjoying cultural songs and dances, and learning about the medicinal value of indigenous herbs (This activity is subject to change).

Thereafter, continue to your lodge for check-in, where you can unwind and refresh before savouring dinner and settling in for an overnight stay.

Planned Activities: Chimpanzee Tracking experience – Following an early morning briefing at 8:00AM, set out at 8:30AM for an exhilarating trek through the lush Kibale rainforest. Traverse winding trails as you track chimpanzees in their natural habitat, observing them swing gracefully through the canopy, forage for food, and interact within their lively family groups. The forest itself is alive with wonder — from the songs of exotic birds to fleeting glimpses of other elusive wildlife — each step revealing a new surprise. Guided by an expert ranger, you will gain fascinating insights into chimpanzee behaviour, the delicate forest ecosystem, and ongoing conservation efforts. Be sure to carry essentials such as sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, a face mask, insect repellent, gloves, and drinking water to ensure a comfortable and memorable adventure. 

After this wildlife encounter, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy a well-deserved lunch.

In the late afternoon, embark on a guided “Top of the World” hike. "Wander through gardens and banana, coffee, and tea plantations with sweeping views of crater lakes, Fort Portal, Kibale Forest, and the Rwenzori Ranges — a scenic hike ideal for photography.

The day’s main Activity: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience – After completing park formalities, set off on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to track the endangered mountain gorillas. Trek through dense jungle, climb rugged terrain, and follow fresh trails until you come face to face with a gorilla family — including the mighty silverback. You’ll spend 1–2 unforgettable hours observing and photographing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Along the way, your ranger guide will choose a safe spot for a picnic lunch before you continue the trek or return to the lodge (subject to change). Be prepared for the wild with sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, gloves, long-sleeved clothing, a face mask, insect repellent, and plenty of water. Optional Activity (USD 30 pp): Enrich your adventure with the Batwa Cultural Trail, where you will experience the traditions and stories of the Batwa.

Pickup Time: 06:00AM. Begin with an early breakfast at the lodge, Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for the Golden Monkey trek and continue to explore the scenic beauty of Lake Mutanda.

Planned Activities: Mgahinga Golden Monkey Trek – Begin your day with a briefing before setting off at 08:00AM for an unforgettable trek through the misty rainforest of Mgahinga. Traverse winding trails and dense bamboo thickets as you track the vibrant Golden Monkeys in their natural habitat. Spend 1–2 magical hours watching them leap, forage, and play, capturing every moment with your camera. Equip yourself with sturdy hiking shoes, long sleeves, trousers, and a backpack with an insect repellent, water, and a face mask. 

Next is Lake Mutanda Boat Cruise – Continue your adventure with a scenic boat cruise from Cheba’s Point on the pristine waters of Lake Mutanda. Drift past hidden islands and sparkling shores, spotting elegant birds and playful otters along the way. Marvel at the towering volcanoes that cradle the lake while your local guide shares stories of the communities and wildlife that thrive here. This two-hour journey is a perfect blend of serenity, discovery, and awe-inspiring scenery!

After the boat cruise, reunite with your guide and transfer to Chameleon Hill Lodge for lunch. Later, return to the lodge for relaxation and leisure time.

Transfer Option 01: Road transfer to Entebbe Airport, arriving in time to check in and connect with your outbound flight — a late departure is recommended for convenience. Alternatively, for USD 390 per person, enjoy a more relaxed and efficient journey with a 2-hour domestic flight to Entebbe Airport.

Transfer Option 02: Journey to Kigali Airport via the scenic Cyanika Border, with a packed lunch provided by the lodge. Time permitting, enrich your departure with a reflective visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, offering a poignant and unforgettable insight into Rwanda’s history, before continuing to the airport for your onward flight.

There’s a good chance. Ngorongoro is one of the best places to see rhinos, Serengeti is known for lions and leopards, and Tarangire is home to large herds of elephants. Buffalo are common in all parks.
