Upon arrival at Kigali Int. Airport, you will be welcomed by our safari guide, who will assist with your luggage and escort you on a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Kigali.

Explore the Highlights of Kigali City: Discover the vibrant heart of Rwanda on this guided Kigali city tour, offering an authentic glimpse into the country’s history and culture. Visit landmark sites including Kandt House, the former residence of Dr Richard Kandt, Mount Kigali, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial. En route to Volcanoes National Park, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or proceed directly to the lodge for a late lunch.

Optional Activity: Iby’Iwacu Cultural Experience –Participate in cultural activities including guided community walks, a visit to the King’s House replica, traditional entertainment, storytelling, and demonstrations of local banana beer and spirit brewing.

Pickup Time: 05:00AM. Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge, followed by a transfer to the park’s Kinigi Office for a pre-trek briefing.

Planned Activity: Volcanoes Golden Monkey Trek – Begin the day with a briefing before setting off into the verdant forests of Volcanoes National Park. Track one of the two habituated golden monkey troops, observing their playful antics and fascinating behaviours up close. As these agile creatures, leap from tree to tree, follow their lead through the forest and fully immerse yourself in their lively world. For a safe and enjoyable trek, bring hiking boots, trousers, long-sleeves, raincoat, hat, insect repellent, and drinking water.

Return to the lodge for lunch (subject to change) and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Arrive at Bwindi late evening and check-in to refresh for dinner at leisure.

Pickup Time: 06:30AM. After an early breakfast, receive a packed lunch and bottled water to carry in your backpack before proceeding to the park office.

Planned Activities: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience – Venture deep into the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an unforgettable encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas. Accompanied by an experienced ranger and skilled trackers, you will navigate lush, mist-shrouded trails, surrounded by the sounds and scents of the jungle, as anticipation builds with every step. Upon finding the gorillas, spend 1 to 2 magical hours observing and photographing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. This is more than a trek—it is an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime adventure into one of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems! During the trek, your guide will select a serene spot for a picnic lunch before you continue or return to the lodge (subject to change). For your comfort and safety, wear sturdy hiking shoes, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, gloves, a face mask, carry insect repellent and drinking water. 

Proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for the “Top of the World” Hike, where the summit offers sweeping panoramic views of all the 29 islands. Trek through scenic trails, immerse yourself in the local culture, and savor the tranquil beauty as the sun sets over the lake.

Morning activity: Lake Bunyonyi Canoe Adventure –Set off on a thrilling journey across Lake Bunyonyi aboard a traditional dugout canoe, weaving through its 29 picturesque islands! Experience the lake’s stunning scenery from a unique perspective and marvel at the natural beauty that surrounds you. Thereafter, transfer back to Kigali and proceed to the airport for check-in (Departure flights from 06:00PM onwards are recommended).

  • International Flights: The cost of international flights to and from Tanzania is not included in the safari package. Guests are responsible for booking their flights.
  • Visa Fees: Tourist visa fees for entry into Tanzania are not included and must be arranged and paid for separately by the travelers.
  • Travel Insurance: We highly recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance to protect against unforeseen events, cancellations, and medical emergencies during your trip.
  • Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses such as gratuities, souvenirs, laundry, phone calls, and additional beverages (apart from bottled water during game drives) are not included in the package.
  • Optional Activities: Additional activities and excursions not mentioned in the itinerary, such as hot air balloon safaris, cultural visits, or guided nature walks, may be available but will come at an extra cost.
  • Vaccinations and Medications: The cost of necessary vaccinations and medications for travel to Tanzania should be considered separately.
  • Additional Accommodation: Accommodation before and after the safari dates in Arusha or any other location is not included in the package and should be arranged by the guests.

When is the best time to take this 5-day safari?

The best time is June to October during the dry season for optimal wildlife viewing. However, the Serengeti Great Migration can be witnessed at different times of the year depending on the migration route.

Will I see the Big Five on this safari?

There’s a good chance. Ngorongoro is one of the best places to see rhinos, Serengeti is known for lions and leopards, and Tarangire is home to large herds of elephants. Buffalo are common in all parks.
